When it comes to getting your first bra, a girl may be wondering what is a bra fitting? Is that a thing? Yes, when it comes to trying on a bra in a shop, it can be a bit strange. Every store will be a little different, but here’s how it goes at a first bra fitting at Stephanie’s. You can share this post with someone who is ready (or not ready!!) for their first fitting…
The ladies in the store will say hi, and then take you through the store to show you all the different types of bras. Everyone likes to wear unique dresses, jeans, and outfits, and it is fine to make personal choices in underclothes and bras, too. There are many different styles and types to look at. The ladies will show you tee shirt bras, sports bras, wired and non-wired bras, and talk about what type might work for you.
You can show our staff, (we call ourselves “bra fitters”) the styles you like. The first visit can just be a look around, without trying on anything. Take your time and let us know if we can help. When you are ready to try on some things, the bra fitter will talk to you about how to get a bra that looks good on you.
The bra should support your bust, and feel great – not too loose, not too tight – whilst looking good, too. The bra can be very plain and smooth, or it can sporty, or lacy, or colourful. The first bra fitting is a time to see which styles you like, because underwear is a bit like a hairstyle, it must work for the person you are.
Women should have a bra that suits the things they do every day. Are you active and sporty, a farm girl riding horses, or something different altogether? Is your body shape changing quickly?
Coming to Stephanie’s is a chance to ask questions about how to support your changing bust line, and to feel confident with how you look. We will show you how to always tell if you are wearing the right size bra, and what things to look out for to buy a perfectly fitting bra.
There is no cost for the fitting and the service time – you only pay for the bra itself if you choose one at the end.
You can come on your own to the bra shop at Stephanie’s or bring a friend or family member with you. There are large, private fitting rooms, where you can try on, on your own, or with help, and take your time. When you are ready for a fitting, call into Stephanie’s, and have a look at all the lovely options for pretty and practical underwear.
